DAYTON — No injuries were reported after a house fire in a Dayton neighborhood on Monday morning.
Crews were called to the 3300 block of Kings Highway just before 4:50 a.m., according to a Montgomery County Regional Dispatcher.

As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, when crews arrived on the scene, no flames or smoke were visible to the outside of the house, according to Dayton Fire Chief Matt Sherrill.

Sherrill said the fire was contained to a back bedroom inside the home.
The back bedroom door was closed, and the fire was able to “put itself out,” said Sherrill.
He said that smoke damage is present throughout the house.
The family was inside the home when the fire started and was able to safely get out, said Sherrill.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
