LORAIN COUNTY — An owl was rescued after being hit by a car earlier this month.

On Sunday, August 16, a Sergeant with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in South Amherst involving a vehicle accident and an owl, according to a social media post from the department.

The driver had struck the owl with their vehicle. The driver was not injured.
The sergeant was able to safely remove the owl from the roadway and made sure it received the care it needed.
The owl was transported to the Medine Raptor Center for treatment.
