DAYTON — Friday and Saturday have the chance of strong to severe storms with an approaching cold front. The conditions are conducive for a few storms to bring damaging winds, 60 MPH and small hail. Isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out, but that threat is extremely low.

Friday the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has the Miami Valley in a level 1 of 5, a marginal risk for severe storms. This means one or two may be severe. This is a limited severe weather threat.
Saturday much of the Miami Valley is under a level 2 of 5, a slight risk for severe storms. All hazards are in play, but strong damaging winds and small hail are the primary threats.

The timing for Saturday’s storms will push in after 3 PM and linger until 9 PM across the Valley. Sunday morning will bring a lingering shower, but most will be dry by 9 AM. Colder air follows with high temperatures only warming into the upper 40s and low 50s.
